Republicans Voicing Concerns Over IVF Ruling?!

IVF Ruling Creates Issues Within the Republican Party

(VitalNews.org) – A ruling in Alabama that limits access to in vitro fertilization, or IVF, has raised concerns for Republicans and they are speaking out.

GOP Representative Nancy Mace, who was campaigning with Trump this week, said, “We’ve got to talk about making sure we don’t take away women’s rights to IVF, women who are childbearing age and want to give birth to children.”

Added Mace, “I’ll be working very hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Abortion rights are a big push for the Democratic party as a main motivator for voters since it could potentially be a winning issue. However, with Alabama’s ruling, many people on both sides of the political aisle are unhappy with the ruling.

This new law in Alabama says that the state will view frozen embryos as children; this could put clinics and families at risk of criminal charges if any damages or issues were to happen. Some clinics paused IVF treatments immediately after the ruling as they figured out what this could mean for them.

President Joe Biden spoke saying that this ruling was a “direct result of overturning Roe v. Wade.” At the same time, the Vice President, Kamala Harris, spoke out about the ruling, continuing her “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms.”

Harris pointed out the hypocrisy of the ruling, saying, “On the one hand, the proponents are saying that an individual doesn’t have a right to end an unwanted pregnancy and, on the other hand, the individual does not have the right to start a family.”

Trump on the other hand has not spoken out about the ruling and Trump has been seen as indifferent to the situation. He’s said prior that he would not rule for a ban on abortion because it would not be a popular ruling for the general public.

On the other hand, Trump’s main competitor, Nikki Haley, spoke out saying, “Embryos to me, are babies. One, you want to make sure that embryos are protected and respected in the way that they’re supposed to be. Two, you want to make sure that parents have the rights to make those decisions with their doctor as they go through in what they’re going to do.”
