What should have been a time of celebration turned into a nightmare when an unhinged woman drove into people at a baby shower.
53-year-old Robin Alexander turned her car into a weapon, ramming into multiple attendees and vehicles after a simple argument broke out.
The incident unfolded in Waldorf, Maryland, when Alexander attended a baby shower that quickly went from celebration to chaos.
What began as a verbal disagreement inside the venue spilled into the parking lot, where Alexander decided to escalate the situation to potentially deadly levels.
According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Alexander got into her vehicle and purposefully drove toward another woman with whom she had been arguing.
She struck not only her intended target but also an innocent bystander who happened to be in the area. The violence did not stop there.
After the initial attack, Alexander continued her rampage by crashing into a parked car containing a juvenile passenger. Fortunately, the child was not injured in the attack.
Showing her determination to cause maximum harm, Alexander then circled back around and intentionally rammed the woman’s vehicle a second time.
Ultimately, the attack left a total of four people injured and two cars damaged.
Quick-thinking bystanders took action to prevent further carnage by slashing Alexander’s tires, effectively disabling her vehicle until police could arrive.
Their decisive action likely prevented additional injuries or worse. One victim required hospitalization with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, emergency medical personnel treated two other victims at the scene.
Alexander now faces serious legal consequences, including eight counts of aggravated assault and two counts of destruction of property.
However, Alexander was released from detention just one day after the incident, with only electronic monitoring as a safeguard.
This case represents yet another example of the criminal justice system’s revolving door policy that releases potentially dangerous individuals back into communities with minimal supervision.
Alexander used a 2-ton vehicle as a weapon in a premeditated attack that injured multiple people, yet she was free within 24 hours.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident as community members question how such violence could erupt at an event meant to celebrate new life.
This disturbing case serves as another reminder that in today’s America, even baby showers are not safe from those who choose violence over civil behavior.
