The Secret Service “thought he was an attacker,” according to Homeland Security, highlighting the tense atmosphere surrounding immigration enforcement efforts.
Noem later described her conversation with Padilla as “great,” while characterizing his interruption as “disrespectful political theater.”
The hospitalization forced the postponement of a scheduled press conference in New York City regarding REAL ID implementation.
