Artificial Intelligence Used In Bombing of US Clinic

In a game-changing revelation that has shocked the nation, terrorists are now using artificial intelligence (AI) to build bombs.

Specifically, two anti-natalist extremists used a chatbot to research how to create explosives that devastated a Palm Springs fertility clinic last month.

This attack marks the second instance this year of AI being weaponized for bomb-making.

It also raises urgent questions about whether Big Tech companies are properly safeguarding their powerful technology from those who would use it to harm innocent Americans.

Daniel Park from Washington state was arrested and charged with providing material support to a terrorist.

The FBI identified him as an accomplice to Guy Edward Bartkus, who died while detonating a bomb outside the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic in Palm Springs last month.

The explosion injured four people, caused extensive damage to surrounding buildings, and was felt over a mile away.

FBI investigations revealed disturbing evidence that the bombers used AI technology to plan their attack.

Federal authorities discovered that Bartkus had used an AI chat program to research “explosives, diesel, gasoline mixtures and detonation velocity.”

Records from the AI application show Bartkus specifically “researched how to make powerful explosions using ammonium nitrate and fuel,” creating a bomb similar to the one used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

Park was apprehended in Warsaw, Poland, after fleeing the United States.

He shipped roughly 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate to Bartkus and paid for an additional 90 pounds before the attack.

Investigators also discovered that Park had visited Bartkus’s residence in Twentynine Palms, California, where they conducted “experiments” in Bartkus’s garage.

Attorney General Pam Bondi stated “Bringing chaos and violence to a facility that exists to help women and mothers is a particularly cruel, disgusting crime that strikes at the very heart of our shared humanity.”

“We are grateful to our partners in Poland who helped get this man back to America and we will prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law,” she added.

According to the FBI, both Park and Bartkus shared extremist beliefs, including pro-mortalism, anti-natalism, and anti-pro-life ideologies.

Bartkus left writings opposing childbirth and advocating human extinction, revealing the twisted ideology behind this heinous act.

This incident has raised serious concerns about whether Big Tech is prioritizing safety over profits.

Reports indicate tech companies are taking shortcuts in safety testing of AI models to remain competitive in the rapidly expanding AI market, potentially putting Americans at risk.

Although OpenAI launched a “safety evaluations hub” and Anthropic added security measures to its Claude Opus 4 model, these measures clearly failed to prevent the attackers from using AI to develop their deadly weapons.

This bombing, which the FBI has officially labeled an “intentional act of terrorism,” underscores the urgent need for stronger regulations on potentially dangerous AI applications.

The fertility clinic has since reopened at a new location. Fortunately, no embryos were lost in the explosion, despite the significant damage to the facility.
