After President Donald Trump’s decisive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Homeland Security officials are warning Americans about imminent terrorist threats on U.S. soil.
Iranian-backed terror cells could mobilize within the next three months following Saturday night’s military operation that targeted Tehran’s nuclear program.
The warning comes as Iran has vowed retaliation and has a documented history of plotting attacks against American officials and interests.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an urgent terrorism alert, warning that America faces a “heightened threat environment” following the strategic B-2 bomber strikes against Iranian nuclear sites.
The National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin specifically cautions about potential attacks from Iranian-led terror cells seeking revenge for Operation Midnight Hammer.
The operation was a coordinated military strike that involved over 125 warplanes, submarines, and surface warships.
The DHS bulletin makes clear that Iranian leadership could dramatically escalate the situation by calling for attacks against American targets.
“The likelihood of violent extremists in the Homeland independently mobilizing to violence in response to the conflict would likely increase if Iranian leadership issued a religious ruling calling for retaliatory violence against targets in the Homeland,” DHS warned..
U.S. intelligence agencies have been monitoring potential threats for weeks.
In fact, analysts had prepared the terrorism bulletin earlier in June, anticipating Iran’s response to any American military action.
Law enforcement has already disrupted multiple Iranian-backed plots on American soil since 2020.
The new warning specifically mentions potential cyber attacks from “hacktivists” and Iranian government-affiliated actors that could target critical American infrastructure.
This comes as Iran continues its long-standing policy of sponsoring terrorism worldwide while pursuing nuclear weapons that would threaten America and its allies.
The advisory also warns of a disturbing rise in anti-Semitic violence targeting Jewish communities across America.
“Multiple recent Homeland terrorist attacks have been motivated by anti-Semitic or anti-Israel sentiment, and the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict could contribute to US-based individuals plotting additional attacks,” the official DHS advisory stated.
President Trump made it clear in his address to the nation that the strikes were necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons that would destabilize the entire Middle East and threaten American security.
The president’s decisive action demonstrates that America will no longer tolerate Iran’s nuclear ambitions or its support for global terrorism.
As America stands firm against the Iranian threat, law enforcement agencies are working to keep communities safe from foreign threats.
