(VitalNews.org) – The State Department has announced another round of aid from the United States that consists of twenty billion dollars in arms sales to Israel as they continue to face tensions throughout the Middle East.
This aid would consist of a variety of weapons from fighter jets and equipment, tank cartridges, and army vehicles, according to the Pentagon.
The State Department came out saying, “The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability. This proposed sale is consistent with those objectives.”
Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant thanked the United States for helping Israel to continue with a “qualitative military edge in the region.”
“Thank you to Secretary of Defense Austin and Secretary of State Blinken for advancing critical force buildup initiatives that assist Israel in developing and maintaining its qualitative military edge in the region,” he posted on X.
“As we fight to defend Israel on seven different fronts, your message of support and commitment to Israel’s security are clear,” he continued.
Regional sources have spoken about the potential attack from Iran on Israel as a retaliation for killing Hamas Political Leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based terrorist group, sent thirty rockets into Israel which is proof of the increased tensions in the Middle East.
The twenty billion dollars in arms sales isn’t expected to be delivered to Israel anytime soon, as the sale is expected to help secure the nation’s resources for the long term.
