(VitalNews.org) – Former president Donald Trump says that he will not be running for office again if he loses the presidential race in November.
Sharyl Attkisson, a host for Sinclair Broadcast Group’s “Full Measure,” asked Donald Trump if he would run for president again if he were to lose the election this year. Donald Trump responded saying, “No, I don’t. No, I don’t. I don’t see that at all. I think that, hopefully, we’re going to be successful.”
Donald Trump is now the oldest presidential nominee in history since Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race. With this, there has been a lot of focus on mental stability and age within the presidential nominees.
The former president has spoken out about the things he’s endured and dealt with, including his run-in with the courtroom as he faces multiple charges within the law. “I didn’t need this. I had a very nice life. I didn’t need to go through court systems and all the other stuff and run simultaneously,” Trump said in an interview with Elon Musk.
“But if I had to do it over again, I would have done it over again, because this is so much more important than me or my life,” he continued.
Donald Trump was also asked about the assassination attempt on him in Butler, Pennsylvania. He’s blamed Democrats for “shots being fired” and for the tensions of the election to have gone this far. “They are a danger. They’re destroying our country,” he said in an interview, referring to Democrats.
He also spoke about the encounter that he had on his golf course last week as well, stating, “I can’t be scared, because if you’re scared, you can’t do your job, so I just can’t be I have, thus far, had somebody protecting me.”
