(VitalNews.org) – Former President Donald Trump addressed the recent incident of cocaine found at the White House and predicts the media will ignore the story or cover it up.
The White House was closed Sunday night after a small bag of a white powdery substance was discovered in the West Wing, where President Joe Biden’s office is located, along with other senior officials. It was later confirmed to be cocaine after the substance was tested.
Trump weighed in on the scandal on Wednesday with a post to his Truth Social page. Trump asked his audience if anybody really believed that the cocaine found “very close to the Oval Office” belongs to “anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden” and then stated that it’s likely the “Fake News Media” will downplay the incident.
The former president also called out independent special counsel Jack Smith, describing him as “deranged.” Trump asked if Smith was “seen in the area” where the drugs were found and that Smith “looks like a crackhead.” Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to oversee the Department of Justice investigations into Trump over the January 6th Capitol riot and the mishandling of classified documents. Trump was indicted on 37 counts last month.
In a follow-up post, Trump asked about the security tapes at the White House, which he said would “quickly show” where the bag of cocaine came from, adding that he believes “they already know the answer.”
Head of communications for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, made a statement about the incident and said they are investigating “into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House,” which he said is still “pending.”
Aside from the fact that the item was discovered in an area where many people pass through, making it difficult to identify who dropped it, the White House press secretary also responded to the incident that the president and his family were present at the White House on Independence Day but spend the weekend at Camp David.
