A Kamaka Air Cessna 208 fell from the sky, crashing into an abandoned building owned by the Transportation Department near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

The crash resulted in the deaths of both pilots on board, identified as pilot-in-training Hiram Defries and Preston Kaluhiwa.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane flying dangerously low before hearing a loud boom followed by smoke.

In a heroic final act, the pilots reportedly managed to avoid several structures, including a fuel farm, potentially preventing an even greater disaster.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched investigations into the crash.

“It’s not a charter flight; it was a training flight. Two souls were on board. Both perished,” said Hawaii’s Department of Transportation Director Ed Sniffen.

Chilling audio recordings from the plane’s final moments reveal the pilots’ desperate struggle to steer the plane.

“We’re out of control here,” one of the pilots can be heard saying to air traffic control.

The control tower responded: “OK, Kamaka 689, if you can land, if you can level it off, that’s fine. Any runway, any place you can do.”

“It is with heavy hearts that Kamaka Air confirms the loss of two members of the Kamaka Air family in an accident,” Kamaka Air CEO David Hinderland stated.

Meanwhile, Hawaii Governor Josh Green expressed condolences and support for the investigation.
