TODAY: Trump Will Keep a HUGE Promise to MAGA

(VitalNews.org) – President Donald Trump is set to fulfill a major campaign promise today as he prepares to sign an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education.

The bold action aims to return control of American education to states and local communities, striking a decisive blow against federal overreach and woke indoctrination in the nation’s schools.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon has already reduced the department’s workforce by half, following the president’s direct instructions.

“That was the President’s mandate,” McMahon stated. “His directive to me, clearly, is to shut down the Department of Education, which we know we’ll have to work with Congress, you know, to get that accomplished.”

While completely eliminating the department requires congressional action, the administration is moving forward with plans to severely limit its operations and influence.

The executive order will specifically prohibit agency funds from supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, or gender ideology programs that Americans have long criticized as harmful to education.

President Trump has been outspoken about his intentions for the department, which he claims is filled with “radicals, zealots, and Marxists” who have consistently failed American students.

Despite spending billions of taxpayer dollars since its creation in 1980, the department has overseen declining academic performance nationwide.

“NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) scores reveal a national crisis—our children are falling behind,” said White House spokesperson Harrison Fields.

“The reality of our education system is stark, and the American people have elected President Trump to make significant changes in Washington,” he added.

McMahon has assured that statutory programs like the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Title I will continue as the administration focuses on eliminating wasteful bureaucracy rather than essential educational services.

The Department of Government Efficiency, a key initiative of the Trump administration, has been conducting audits of the Education Department to identify areas of waste and overreach.

“Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. should not be in charge of our children’s intellectual and moral development,” said Rep. Thomas Massie, who has introduced legislation to eliminate the department by December 2026.

The move has drawn criticism from teachers’ unions and left-wing organizations that benefit from centralized control of education.

National Education Association President Becky Pringle warned that President Trump’s actions would hurt students.

However, she failed to acknowledge the department’s decades of underperformance despite its $79.1 billion annual budget.

Conservative education advocates have long argued that the department represents an unconstitutional federal overreach into an area traditionally managed by states and local communities.

The department’s recent promotion of controversial ideological initiatives has only strengthened Republican resolve to dismantle it.

The executive order aligns with the president’s broader agenda of expanding educational opportunities through universal school choice and empowering parents over bureaucrats.

The administration aims to foster innovation and responsiveness to local needs by returning education decisions to states, communities, and families.

“You’ll have a few people left just to make sure [the states are] teaching English — you know, you say reading, writing and arithmetic,” President Trump explained about his vision for the future of federal education oversight.
