(VitalNews.org) – Big Pharma’s latest blunder puts American lives at risk: STASKA PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. has recalled a vital vitamin C injection due to potential glass contamination.

Specifically, STASKA PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. issued a voluntary recall for one batch of their Ascorbic Acid Solution for Injection.

The product is a prescription-only injectable vitamin C with a concentration of 500mg/mL that comes in 50 mL vials. The affected lot number is SP2400058 and has an expiration date of 12/31/2024.

The recall was triggered after glass particulates were discovered in the vials, a dangerous oversight that could have severe consequences for patients.

This contamination poses a significant risk to Americans’ health, potentially causing local irritation, swelling or even more severe issues like stroke or death if the glass particles block blood vessels.

While STASKA PHARMACEUTICALS claims no reports of particulate matter or unfortunate events have been received, the potential for harm remains high.

The product was distributed nationwide to healthcare providers between July 31, 2024, and August 27, 2024, leaving a wide window for possible exposure.

STASKA PHARMACEUTICALS has notified customers and arranged for the return and replacement of the recalled products.

Healthcare providers are instructed to stop using the affected lot, quarantine it and contact STASKA for return and replacement.
