Nestle Launches Food Line to Target Weight Loss Drug Users

(VitalNews.org) – Nestle has just announced that they will be launching a new line of products that would target customers who use Ozempic or other weight loss drugs. The goal for Nestle is to capitalize on the growing market, which is projected to be worth thirty billion dollars within the next six years.

The new brand called Vital Pursuit plans to launch twelve new products which will include items like frozen protein pasta, pizzas, and sandwich melts. The main difference within this brand is that the products have a higher amount of protein and nutrients like iron, potassium, and Vitamin A. The items will also be portioned out in a way that is essential for a person who is taking weight-loss medication.

“As the use of medications to support weight loss continues to rise, we see an opportunity to serve those consumers,” Nestlé North America CEO Steve Presley said.

It’s the first time that a company has come out with any products specific to those who are using glucagon-like peptides. The drug is made mostly for people with Type 2 Diabetes and is essential for improving blood sugar control, but it can also help with weight loss as well. Semaglutide is the component in Ozempic and similar weight-loss drugs.

The popularity of these weight loss drugs has brought attention to many companies, especially as people have changed their food shopping habits, which is what has inspired Nestle to make this brand specific for weight loss users.

Novo Nordisk said that over twenty thousand Americans are getting on Wegovy every single week, and the number is expected to grow. By the end of the decade, nine percent of Americans are expected to be on weight loss medication.
