(VitalNews.org) – Republican legal expert Mike Davis thinks the indictments of former President Donald Trump represent “dangerous and destructive attacks” on the entire country.
Trump and 18 other associates, including his former lawyer Rudy Guliani, were all indicted on August 14 by a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, under charges of election fraud, racketeering, and other allegations related to the 2020 presidential election.
The founder and president of the Article III Project gave his remarks to PJ Media about the latest development and slammed the indictment of Trump and Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis. Davis noted that the charges don’t even have to be for more serious things like whether or not Trump incited a riot on January 6, 2021, or whether or not Giuliani “had the ‘real electors tied up in his trunk,” he added jokingly. Now it’s “for nothing more than daring to question an election,” Davis said, which is a “dangerous and destructive” attack “on the American Republic.”
Davis also gave a statement on Twitter breaking down the latest indictment legally and politically. Davis wrote that Wallis is “another partisan Democrat prosecutor” from “another Democrat hellhole” (referring to Fulton County Georgia). He called the indictment “loud, long, and lawless,” and part of a plan by Democrats and their district attorneys to take out Trump because they fear they can’t beat him “on November 5, 2024.”
Davis accused Willis, special counsel Jack Smith, and others of “republic-ending election interference.” He said the indictments are “for the non-crimes of objecting to a presidential election” and “twisting political arms,” which he notes is permitted by the First Amendment.
Davis concludes by advising an immediate opening of “an impeachment inquiry” on President Joe Biden and Merrick Garland, the Attorney General, for covering up Biden’s corruption. He also called on House Republicans to “cut off” federal funds going to special counsel Smith and the other district attorneys until after the 2024 election if “this unprecedented” interference “doesn’t pause.”
Ultimately, Davis believes “the American people” should be the ones who get to judge Trump in the election rather than allowing Democrat “prosecutors, judges, and juries to “pick our next president.”
