Microsoft Hires DeepMind Co-Founder For AI Division

(VitalNews.org) – Microsoft has just hired a new member of their team. They have hired the co-founder of a British Artificial Intelligence lab called DeepMind as the head of their new AI division.

Mustafa Suleyman co-founded his company over ten years ago, which was bought out by Google. DeepMind is now a large aspect of Google’s AI branch and will be combined with another technology to become Google DeepMind.

The chief executive at Microsoft said in a blog post that they were hiring the British AI pioneer as a chief executive of their new organization called Microsoft AI. Microsoft has been a leader in AI, but as many other tech companies have seen, there is a lot to learn, and there are a lot of moving pieces in this new technology.

Artificial intelligence has become a main focus of the technology industry, already being adopted by many individuals and corporations. Many tech giants are jumping to create their own version of an AI program or division.

Microsoft explained that the addition of Mustafa would allow them to accelerate their production and overall pace when it comes to AI. Microsoft’s main AI program is called CoPilot and it can help you to write emails, make presentations, and summarize text.

“I’ve known Mustafa for several years and have greatly admired him as a founder of both DeepMind and Inflection and as a visionary, product maker, and builder of pioneering teams that go after bold missions,” said Nadella, the Chief Executive at Microsoft.

He added, “This infusion of new talent will enable us to accelerate our pace yet again.” Nadella continued to explain that bringing on Mustafa and some of his talented team members would help them escalate their AI plans to the next level and fast.

Not only did he co-found DeepMind but he also co-founded Inflection AI which has received investments from Microsoft and Nvidia, the chip maker.
