(VitalNews.org) – Microsoft has announced that some of its 365 services are experiencing issues that keep customers from using cloud-based apps. This could include programs or apps like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and many people experienced having issues with these services.
The company stated that they have “identified a potential networking issue” and that they are working on resolving it. Reports of outages spiked on DownDetector with users reporting mainly problems with Outlook and other cloud apps. The outage was cleared up by the afternoon as Microsoft said that its Microsoft 365 admin center and Azure cloud service were fixed and available.
The particular Microsoft outage comes just two weeks after Microsoft experienced one of the biggest network crashes in history. A bug in a program update for Microsoft led to millions of systems crashing and showing the “blue screen of death.” It affected healthcare systems, emergency systems, businesses, and even banking.
This outage was reported globally throughout multiple countries and it left businesses scrambling for days as Microsoft tried to fix the issue. The full issue wasn’t fixed until a few days later, and many people were experiencing issues following the outage. This reached headlines across the globe as many people all over the world reported that they couldn’t get into their system.
“Initial indications are that the following services are not impacted: SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online,” the company added.
They also added that some customers who used Microsoft 365 and were impacted might “experience latency or degraded feature performance.”
