McDonald’s lovers across America are celebrating a victory as the fast-food giant confirms that a beloved item will return to menus in 2025.

The announcement ends a nine-year drought that left many loyal customers wondering why the popular Snack Wrap was ever removed in the first place.

McDonald’s decision to bring back this fan favorite proves that sometimes big corporations do listen to their customers.

McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger confirmed the news that has sent waves of excitement through social media.

“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025. This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025,” Erlinger stated, acknowledging the overwhelming customer demand.

The Snack Wrap, which originally debuted in 2006 before being discontinued in 2016, features crispy chicken, lettuce, cheese, and sauce wrapped in a soft tortilla.

For nearly a decade, fans have been vocal about their desire to see the menu item return, creating online petitions and social media campaigns.

McDonald’s made the announcement in typically corporate fashion, releasing a cryptic social media post with the date “0x.14.2025,” leaving fans to speculate about the exact return month.

While some believe this hints at an October 2025 release, the company has remained tight-lipped about specific timing.

CEO Christopher Kempczinski expanded on the company’s strategy during an earnings call.

“This year, there is incredible energy for the return of Snack Wraps in the U.S., along with a few other markets,” he said.

Kempczinski also mentioned plans for “a new chicken strip offering,” signaling McDonald’s commitment to expanding its chicken menu items.

The timing could not be better for the fast-food giant. McDonald’s U.S. sales fell 1.4% in the fourth quarter, partly due to an E.coli outbreak linked to onions.

The company clearly hopes the return of this fan favorite will help boost those numbers.

Kempczinski stated that the company was “excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026.”

The Snack Wrap’s comeback is part of a broader strategy that includes introducing value-focused menu options.

The $5 Meal Deal has already contributed to increased average order spending in the U.S., showing that Americans appreciate affordable options during these economically challenging times.

McDonald’s, which operates over 13,500 locations in the U.S. and nearly 43,500 worldwide, continues to adapt its offerings to meet customer demands.

Other recent menu additions include the Angel Reese Special and Pokémon-themed Happy Meals, along with seasonal favorites like the Shamrock Shake.

When asked for more specifics about the Snack Wrap’s return, Kempczinski was careful not to reveal too much:

“[My team] would kill me if I gave any more details about the when and the exact specifics of how we’re going to plan on doing that, but certainly expect that to come online later in the year,” he joked.
