(VitalNews.org) – Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader, recently issued its newest threat at a meeting in the capital of North Korea saying they were prepared to “thoroughly annihilate” the enemy if they continue to provoke them. This threat was focused on both the United States and South Korea after Kim accused them of “various forms of military threat.”
After the previous encounter with the United States, North Korea’s leader has taken it upon himself to direct his military to attack both the United States and South Korea if they initiate another military confrontation.
“If the enemy opts for military confrontation and provocation against the DPRK, our army should deal a deadly blow to thoroughly annihilate them by mobilizing all the toughest means and potentialities without a moment’s hesitation,” Kim Jong Un said.
North Korea is known for its determination to add to its nuclear arsenal thanks to its extensive nuclear weapons program. Countries such as the United States have pushed for agreements to stop North Korea’s production of nuclear weapons, but have been unsuccessful.
North Korea said they plan to build up their arsenal and launch three more spy satellites this year. South Korea claims that they will be focusing on strengthening their military and retaliatory capabilities due to North Korea’s threats.
Since 2022 North Korea has performed over 100 missile tests and has initiated a stronger bond with its allies, China and Russia. There is even speculation that North Korea helped Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war to gain access to Russian technologies.
Officials from Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, have stated that they have “irreversible” nuclear power and have claimed that they will never give up their nuclear program as they believe it’s essential for their survival.
Many countries are preparing for anything as North Korea continues to take steps toward a larger nuclear arsenal and more advanced weaponry.
