Kamala Harris Raised Shocking Amount During Democratic National Convention

(VitalNews.org) – Vice President Kamala Harris raised over eighty million dollars during the Democratic National Convention. This has now brought the total amount of funds raised to over five hundred million dollars since her campaign launched.

Harris received over forty million in fundraising after her speech as she accepted the official Democratic nomination at the Democratic National Convention. Campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said that the hour after Harris’ speech was the best fundraising hour they had.

A third of these donations were from new donors, and the Harris campaign also saw volunteers sign up for over two thousand shifts during the convention.

“We head into September with a virtual army of volunteers ready to do the hard work of talking to their neighbors, friends, and colleagues,” O’Malley Dillon wrote in a memo. “Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s battleground infrastructure remains incredibly sparse.”

She added, “The Convention was a galvanizing moment for the Harris-Walz coalition throughout the country, energizing and mobilizing volunteer and grassroots donors alike.”

She continued to say that they would reach out to voters and spread their base while “Trump is focused on very little beyond online tantrums and attacking the voters critical to winning 270 electoral votes.”

Harris’ campaign has seen surprising popularity since she was endorsed by President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee. There has been immense support from previous Biden supporters, as well as a jump in support from new donors as well.

Kamala Harris has been focused on getting people excited about the election, voting, and what she will do for the country if she is voted in as president.
