(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Military experts have said that there is a huge possibility that Iran will declare itself a nuclear power by the end of this year.
Vice president of foreign and defense policy studies for The Heritage Foundation, James Carafano, said, “I think that’s a real option. I mean, if I were the Iranians and I were going to do it, I would do it now because Biden will do nothing.”
“The Israelis are bogged down, and you’ve got months before — if Trump wins — before he comes to power, and by then you have established nuclear power and what’s going to happen,” he continued.
U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken said last month that Iran is “now probably one or two weeks away from achieving breakout capacity of producing fissile material for a nuclear weapon.” The Biden Administration has also been warning throughout the year that Iran is close to achieving nuclear power.
Blinken has blamed the Iran Nuclear Deal for Iran’s nuclear development happening so fast. A U.S. State Department spokesperson said, “We are committed to never letting Iran obtain a nuclear weapon, and we are prepared to use all elements of national power to ensure that outcome.”
Experts have also said that the uncertainty around the presidential election and Biden’s decision to drop out has left Iran with an opportunity to slip under the radar.
