How Did an Artwork Buyer Get an Appointment with the Biden Admin? They Can’t Say

(VitalNews.org) – Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary, was recently asked about how a major donor to the Democratic Party and purchaser of one of Hunter Biden’s paintings ended up with a prestigious commission from his father, President Joe Biden.

Jean-Pierre was asked about the pay-to-play scheme revealed on Tuesday and why Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, who paid thousands of dollars for one of Hunter Biden’s artworks, was also appointed to a plum commission by the president.

The reporter also noted that Naftali “made more than a dozen visits” to the White House and met with some of Biden’s “most senior advisors,” and asked Jean-Pierre if she could tell them “a little more about those visits” and “why she was here.” The Press Secretary replied that she would “have to look into that” and that she’s “not been tracking these visits.”

Hunter Biden apparently discovered the identity of at least two buyers of his artwork, according to Business Insider, one of whom is Naftali, a real estate investor from Los Angeles and also a major donor to the Democratic Party. Naftali was appointed by President Biden to a prestigious commission, although it is unclear if the appointment took place before or after she purchased his son’s artwork. The appointment happened in July 2022, which was eight months after a debut exhibit of Hunter Biden’s art in a New York City gallery in SoHo.

Former Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, promised inquirers that potential buyers of the first son’s artwork would have their identities concealed from the Biden family. During a 2021 briefing, Psaki said that the gallerist exhibiting Hunter Biden’s paintings would not share information about the buyers or potential buyers “including their identities” with Hunter Biden or members of the Biden administration

One of the ways the White House public relations team has tried to do damage control regarding Hunter Biden and the multitude of scandals he’s connected to was to revamp his image as an artist. Because of the Biden name, his works sell from $75,000 to $500,000 and up.
