Harris-Trump Debate Speaks Out on Artificial Intelligence

(VitalNews.org) – Kamala Harris and Donald Trump spoke about artificial intelligence in their recent debate; both candidates discussed and debated how they would, or wouldn’t, use AI in their presidential term.

In the aftermath of the debate, it revealed that Republicans use artificial intelligence to show their political points and views, but Democrats do not.

There was a debunked claim by Donald Trump where he said that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were “eating the dogs- the people that came in, they’re eating the cats.” This statement was not true at all and was quickly debunked. ABC moderators fact checked instantly with information from the city’s animal control commissioner.

Trump and many Republicans have relied on artificial intelligence to bring forth images to prove this vile and untrue statement. Donald Trump Jr. tweeted images of Trump next to a giant cat holding a gun prior to when the debate happened.

These images are just one example of how artificial intelligence has been used to fuel the fire of the election. It’s said that Republicans may be using Grok, Elon Musk’s AI image generator, to create these images.

OpenAI’s Dall-E and Midjourney have safeguards in place that help to prevent the spread of misinformation and fake generated images. However, Grok doesn’t have the same sort of safeguards on their AI platform.

Just a couple days after the debate, Donald Trump posted an image where he was sitting on a plane surrounded by geese and cats. The cat had a sign that said “Kamala hates me.” These images were very obviously AI generated content and it was posted on his social media platform Truth Social.

After the debate, Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris while speaking out against artificial intelligence made images, as Swift has been a victim of misinformation from these images herself.
