(VitalNews.org) – In another witch hunt aimed at derailing a Trump loyalist’s career, the liberal establishment is serving as a launching pad for shocking accusations against conservative firebrand Matt Gaetz.
Two female “victims” have come forward with eyebrow-raising allegations as part of the House Ethics Committee probe into Gaetz.
Attorney Joel Leppard, representing the alleged victims, claims his clients testified that Gaetz paid them for sex. The committee reportedly cross-checked their testimonies with Gaetz’s Venmo records.
However, these accusations seem suspiciously timed, considering that Gaetz has been tapped as the potential Attorney General in the upcoming Trump administration.
One of Leppard’s clients even went as far as to accuse Gaetz of being with a minor at a 2017 Florida party.
The timing of these allegations is particularly suspect. Gaetz recently resigned from Congress, leaving the ethics investigation in limbo as the committee lacks jurisdiction over former members.
In response to the allegations, Gaetz spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer said, “Matt Gaetz will be the next Attorney General. He’s the right man for the job and will end the weaponization of our justice system.”
Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has thrown his full support behind Gaetz’s nomination and recognizes these allegations as a desperate attempt to smear a conservative champion.
House Speaker Mike Johnson also opposed releasing the ethics report, citing jurisdiction limits and protecting Gaetz from what appears to be a political hit job.
“These are baseless allegations intended to derail the second Trump administration. The Biden Justice Department investigated Gaetz for years and cleared him of wrongdoing,” Pfeiffer added.
It is crucial to remember that the Department of Justice declined to pursue charges against Gaetz after a thorough investigation.
