Former Football Player Bails Out Wife Who Allegedly Hired Hitman to Kill Him

(VitalNews.org) – Former athlete Robert Shiver, 38, has reportedly helped his estranged wife and her accomplices to be bailed after they were arrested for trying to kill him. Prosecutors intended to argue against the former beauty queen Lindsay Shiver, 36, being granted bail along with her alleged boyfriend Terrence Bethal, 28, and 29-year-old Faron Newbold, who were all being held in the Fox Hill prison in Nassau. The prosecution team decided not to object to their bailing after speaking to the former Auburn Tigers football player.

The Shivers, who have three young children together, filed for divorce in April in their home county of Thomas County, Georgia, with Robert filing on April 5th, and Linsday following suit the next day. In his petition, Robert accused his wife of adultery, while Lindsay accused him of physical and mental cruelty. She complained that he had cut her off from accessing funds and requested alimony payments, a request that Robert has since asked Thomas County Superior Court to deny. Since Lindsay’s arrest, he has also requested sole custody of their children as well as exclusive use of their $2.5m Georgia mansion.

Robert Shiver was first made aware of the alleged murder plot when police officers arrived at his home in Georgia. They told him that the attempt on his life had only come to light when Bahamian police happened to search Terrence Bethal’s phone in relation to a bar burglary and found details of the alleged plot to kill him written in Whatsapp messages. Bethal, Newbold, and Lindsay Shiver were all arrested on July 21st, with Newbold accused of being the attempted hitman that Bethal and Lindsay Shiver hired after their affair was discovered by Robert Shiver.

Bethal and Newbold were released on $20,000 bail each and required to hand over any travel documentation, wear tracking devices, and check in three times a week with the police. Lindsay Shiver was bailed for $100,000, required to wear a tracker, and ordered not to leave the Bahamas, where she and her estranged husband own a holiday home.
