(VitalNews.org) – America is facing multiple threats from many directions at a time when law enforcement agencies struggle to keep up, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray.
He said in an interview that it is “hard pressed to think of a time in my career where so many different kinds of threats are all elevated at once.”
Wray’s remarks come as law enforcement has been dealing with multiple threats from cyber attacks, espionage, theft, foreign election interference, and terrorism.
Wray stated, “I worry about the combination of that many threats being elevated at once, with the challenges facing the men and women in law enforcement more generally.”
He continued, ”And the one thing that I think helps bridge those two challenges is partnerships. That’s how we get through. It is by all working together.”
Wray has spoken for months about potential threats and has spoken out about how the war in Israel could potentially inspire other militants to act out. Threats have continued to increase with multiple companies facing large scale hacking issues and other problems.
The upcoming elections in America have put the country in the spotlight and have made it a target for interference from other countries. There have also been issues related to the border crisis with detained individuals connected to Tajikistan and suspected ties with the Islamic State Group.
FBI Director Wray has been warning law enforcement and encouraging them to step up to tackle the issues at hand.
Wray says, “One of the things that we have been doubling down on with every passing day is, is on partnerships, because ultimately you’re talking about the ability to connect the dots, whether it’s against some kind of election influence threat or some other kind of threat.”
