(VitalNews.org) – Donald Trump took part in his first rally since becoming the target of a second assassination attempt, which occurred at his golf course. The rally took place at a sports venue in New York City, and he stated that these “encounters with death” have only made him tougher.
At the rally, he said, “God has now spared my life. It must have been God, not once, but twice.”
He faced a crowd in New York City, an interesting choice since this isn’t a priority state for either candidate. The state is mainly Democratic and the polls show that currently, Kamala Harris is ahead of him by double digits.
There were supporters lined up to see Donald Trump in his rally. Male supporters wore “women for Trump” shirts, and several supporters wore “Fight, Fight, Fight” shirts, which were more popular following his assassination attempts.
One man was seen wearing a T-shirt that had a bullet on it and the words “Just the tip, I promise.” There were flyers handed out saying “Japan for Trump” and “God chose Trump.”
Security was tight at the event with helicopters buzzing above Trump, police dogs patrolling the area, and the entire perimeter swept.
Despite the events Trump has faced over recent weeks, he stood on the stage that once held stars like Elton John, Elvis Presley, and The Beach Boys.
“We are going to win New York!” he boasted. He continued to speak about previous topics he’s spoken of before like Haitian immigrants in Ohio and calling them “illegal immigrants” despite many of them being legal.
“What the hell is wrong with our country,” Trump stated, saying that he was planning to visit Springfield, Ohio.
