Donald Trump Rejects Harris’ Call for a Second Debate

(VitalNews.org) – Kamala Harris has accepted an invitation from CNN for another debate with Donald Trump on October twenty-third, but it seems that Donald Trump isn’t willing to do this.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, the chair of the Harris campaign, said, “Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate. It is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules and ratings.”

Harris wrote on X, ”I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23,” and continued, “I hope Donald Trump will join me.”

A Trump spokesperson answered a question regarding a second debate by reiterating what Donald Trump had said previously about future debates. Trump spoke out at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina saying that Harris wanted another debate because she’s losing.

Referring to Harris, Trump said, “She’s done one debate, I’ve done two. It’s too late to do another, I’d love to in many ways but it’s too late, the voting is cast, the voters are out there, immediately – is everybody voting, please? Get out and vote.”

The first, and only, debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was held in Philadelphia on September tenth, where Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was said to have won the debate.

Not long after their debate, Trump spoke out saying that he wouldn’t be interested in doing any other debates with Kamala Harris.

Trump wrote, “When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH.”

This response prompted the Harris campaign to speak out against Trump calling him a “chicken” for not wanting to debate again. The original debate saw multiple issues since the rules were still being negotiated by the campaigns, leading to some head-butting between the two candidates.
