(VitalNews.org) – Georgia’s election integrity is under threat as noncitizens infiltrate voter rolls ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s groundbreaking audit uncovered alarming evidence that foreign nationals are attempting to influence American democracy.
Raffensperger’s office conducted the state’s first-ever citizenship review of voter rolls, revealing a shocking 1,634 noncitizens who attempted to register to vote.
“Ensuring that only citizens are voting in Georgia’s elections is key to upholding the integrity of the vote in Georgia,” said Raffensperger.
“As liberal states and cities around the country are changing their laws to allow noncitizen voting, I will continue to take steps to ensure Georgia’s elections are executed with integrity,” he continued.” Leading the state’s first citizenship audit of the voter rolls is an important part of that effort.”
The audit employed groundbreaking cross-referencing methods, using data from the Georgia Department of Driver Services and the Department of Homeland Security’s USCIS Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program.
The audit has exposed weaknesses in the federal voter registration process, prompting calls for immediate reform.
As a result of this thorough investigation, 20 confirmed noncitizens have been identified and promptly removed from the voter rolls.
These individuals have been referred to local law enforcement for prosecution. They could face potential sentences of up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $100,000.
An additional 156 enrolled voters are currently under scrutiny and suspected of being noncitizens.
The audit’s findings have sparked outrage. Former Senator Kelly Loeffler expressed the concerns of many Americans.
She stated, “Millions of illegal immigrants have flooded our country since 2021, and it’s well-documented that thousands of them have successfully registered to vote in multiple states.”
“But even with early voting now underway, Georgia voters are still waiting for confirmation that noncitizens are not casting ballots in our elections,” she added.
Raffensperger and other election officials are urging Congress to revise the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, which contains loopholes that allow noncitizens to slip through the cracks and onto voter rolls.
