Biden Just Got a Very Big Dare

(VitalNews.org) – Axios broke a story in early December 2020 about a Chinese spy, Christine Fang, also known as Fang-Fang, who targeted promising California politicians between 2011 and 2015, including Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA). Now, Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) is daring President Joe Biden to declassify an alleged report that might shed more light on the details of Swalwell’s relationship with Fang.

According to Breibart, Banks submitted a letter to the president regarding an alleged classified Intelligence report which the outlet claims it confirmed exists. Reportedly, sources familiar with the report’s contents speaking anonymously in 2021 told Breitbart it contained details, including intimate acts Swalwell and Fang shared. Nonetheless, citing national security, the sources would not reveal any other details.

In a January 25 White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre provided her reaction to Speaker Kevin Mcarthy’s (R-CA) decision to remove Reps. Swalwell and Adam Schiff (D-CA) from the House Intelligence Committee. She suggested Swalwell, Schiff, and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) all brought considerable depth and skills to their respective committees involved with national security and foreign policy,

Banks wrote Biden, referring to the briefing and saying he was aware the administration disagreed with McCarthy’s assessment and decision for “unknown reasons.” In the spirit of transparency, the Indiana lawmaker suggested Biden declassify and disclose the alleged report. If the documentation proves Swalwell posed no acute or ongoing threat to national security, then Banks wrote he would support allowing the Californian to serve on the Intelligence Committee. He suggested other Republicans might, too.

Swalwell interviewed with host Dana Bash Sunday, January 29, on CNN’s “State of the Union.” When Bash asked whether he compromised himself or potentially relayed sensitive information, the congressman answered, “Absolutely not.” He also pointed out that former Speakers John Boehner (R-OH), Paul Ryan (R-WI), and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) all had access to the very same information as McCarthy but found no reason to prevent him from sitting on the Intelligence Committee.

Swalwell also shared that Devin Nunes (R-CA) chaired the Intelligence Committee and was privy to the information but didn’t bar him from serving, Furthermore, Swalwell said President Donald Trump had access to the classified data and actively disliked him, but found no way to “weaponize” the information.

Until or unless the executive branch provides adequate proof that Swalwell maintained security integrity, it seems unlikely that Banks, McCarthy, or other House GOP leaders will welcome him to sensitive committees.
