(VitalNews.org) – The US shot down a high-altitude Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday, February 4. Since then, US forces have taken down three more unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), including the first on Friday, February 10, off Alaska’s northern coast, the second on Saturday over arctic Canada with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s permission and Canadian forces’ assistance, and the third over Lake Huron on Sunday. In the wake of the takedowns, President Joe Biden ordered the formation of an interagency task force focussing on the unidentified objects and their origins.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre began her joint press briefing with Admiral John Kirby, the National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, on Monday, February 13, by addressing the takedowns. She stated, “I know there have been questions and concerns about this, but there is no — again, no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity.”
My first real loss from being suspended from the @fbi – I miss out on the #X-Files. So disappointing.

An earlier statement from General Glen VanHerck of NORAD seems to have prompted the White House statement. On Sunday, when asked about the origins of the additional three objects and whether they might be extraterrestrial, General VanHerck said he wouldn’t take anything off the table, leaving identification to the intelligence and counterintelligence communities. Instead, he indicated his concern was assessing and containing potential threats.
The task force includes officials from the Pentagon, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, and other executive branch departments. National Security advisor John Sullivan heads up the group. The task force will help set policies, coordinate with allies and partners, and brief Congress members and governors about recent incidents and ongoing developments.
On Monday, February 13, Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) called for answers regarding the UAP shot down over his district on Sunday and, more specifically, what he characterized as “one of the most staggering intelligence failures since 9/11” regarding the larger number of UAP detections and takedowns.
Recovery operations continue for all four of the objects shot down. Analysts hope to identify points of origin for the latest three objects once they recover debris.
