The far-left Squad member has warned of “problems” if any of her Democrat colleagues face legal consequences for their actions at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Newark, New Jersey.
AOC threatened Trump administration officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and border czar Tom Homan, with unspecified consequences if Democrat lawmakers faced arrests.
“You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman…or any of the representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem. Because the people who are breaking the law are the people not abiding by it,” stated AOC.
This aggressive stance follows an incident where three Democrat representatives assaulted federal agents during what they called an “oversight” visit.
The lawmakers involved—Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez, and LaMonica McIver—participated in a protest at the Delaney Hall detention center where Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was already arrested for trespassing.
While elected officials cry victim, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials tell a different story about a physical confrontation initiated by the representatives.
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin boldly declared, “We will not tolerate assault against our ICE law enforcement agents. By members of Congress or anyone else.”
In a typical display of far-left double standards, AOC claims her Democrat colleagues are somehow immune to legal consequences despite pushing and shoving federal agents.
This pattern of behavior shows how the radical left believes they operate under a different set of rules than everyday Americans, who would face immediate arrest for assaulting federal officers.
The Democrat representatives claim they were conducting legitimate congressional oversight.
However, their actions—joining protesters and allegedly becoming physically confrontational—suggest political theater rather than serious inquiry.
Even more troubling is AOC’s assertion that DHS officials, not her colleagues, are the true lawbreakers, showing complete disrespect for law enforcement protecting our borders.
“If anyone is breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security,” AOC claimed.
Delaney Hall, the detention center at the center of this controversy, has long been targeted by immigration activists seeking to undermine President Donald Trump’s border security efforts.
Rather than working to secure America’s borders, these Democrat lawmakers are actively interfering with detention operations.
They also support illegals who violate immigration laws, all while claiming immunity from consequences.
This incident demonstrates the growing boldness of radical Democrats who believe they are untouchable while interfering with federal immigration enforcement.
Their actions undermine the rule of law and endanger the very agents working to protect American communities from the illegal immigration crisis that the Biden-Harris administration created.
