(VitalNews.org) – Conveniently ignoring her candidate’s proven incompetence and unpopularity, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and other Democrats are blaming Kamala Harris’ election loss on having to fight “an enormous fascist threat.”
In a recent online session, AOC claimed Harris faced “unprecedented challenges” in constructing a presidential campaign on short notice, completely overlooking Harris’s lackluster performance and her history of gaffes and missteps.
The New York congresswoman went on to claim that if Harris were a man, the election results might have been different.
Her baseless speculation ignores the fact that voters rejected Harris based on her policies and performance, not her gender or race.
Specifically, AOC stated:
“I think it’s important to also state here that Kamala Harris was given an assignment that no other person in American history was given: To construct a presidential campaign in 90 to 100 days with absolutely no expectation or end to that assignment and have to deliver the country from an enormous fascist threat that had already been campaigning and priming the pump for essentially eight years.”
Other Democrats joined the chorus of excuses, with former Obama adviser David Axelrod suggesting that racism and sexism impacted the election outcome.
“There were appeals to racism in this campaign, and there is racial bias in this country, and there is sexism in this country, and anybody who thinks that did not in any way impact on the outcome of this race is wrong,” Axelrod remarked.
These claims conveniently overlook Harris’s numerous policy failures, including her mishandling of the border crisis and her inability to connect with voters across the political spectrum.
While the left continues to play the race and gender card, they ignore the real reasons for Harris’ defeat: her lack of leadership, her embrace of radical policies and her failure to address the concerns of hardworking Americans.
Instead of acknowledging these shortcomings, Democrats are doubling down on divisive identity politics.
Harris’ inability to articulate a clear vision for the country and the Biden administration’s disastrous policies on inflation, crime and border security sealed her fate at the ballot box.
